She’s leaving home?

Well last week was my first week of studying again. Surprisingly the lectures have been rather easy, maybe it’s because I’m already a rather big nerd, or because it’s the first week, I don’t really know! But overall I think everything has gone fairly well :)

Well Sunday was the last time I’m going to see an old friend for a fair amount of time, because she’s moving to London, which I’m a bit upset about because we used to be really close a few years back. When she used to say she aimed to study in London even though I knew she would I never thought I’d see the day. Time just flies eh? Well I had a good time in town with her and managed to bump into a few people I know. Then finished it off with an absolutely lovely garlic bread (with cheese) from Mcoys!

Already after a day of being told that we have to do a fairly large project next year I’ve already been brain storming some ideas and already decided what I want to do! Nothing like been prepared eh? It does mean that when my student loans come though I’m going to have to buy 3 domains now… (well that’s if there isn’t some kind of limit on how many you can own). One for this Blog (so I can have the feeling of complete ownership); another so I can reserve the name for my main alias on the internet so I can link together all my online networking and future projects; and a mystery one for this project I have in mind.

But any ways more on that later on…

I think that just about covers my less than exciting week!

PS, If anyone does know if there is some kind of limit on domains let me know!

A new start?

It may come as no surprise especially to people who know me that this year hasn’t been too positive, with arguments, problems in relationships, and losing friends weather that’s through arguments or them moving away to study else where. So in light terms I have been less than happy.

But tomorrow is the start of my Business Information Technology (You won’t find a more nerdy name anywhere else) degree. So I’ve filled my mp3 player with all the music it can possibly hold (adding a bit of Depeche Mode, The Enemy and some solo stuff by Paul McCartney) and I’m going to go in with a very positive attitude and hopefully I’ll come back home in one too.

So fingers crossed and wish me luck :)

Freedom Festival

Like most other people in Hull I ended up going to the Freedom Festival events round the city centre so I remembered to take my camera to get some photos.

We were there for a good 6 hours. When I got in my legs where about to drop off, so I ended up watching the F1 Monza qualifiers. Even though it was a good day out the music wasn’t really my kind of thing… Maybe it’s because I’ve been listening to too much of The Beatles and Radiohead recently? (Although this duo of an Australian woman and this Local guy on the Clipper Stage really impressed me). So hopefully more Rock / Alternative music next time please?

Photography wise I think that was a very good day for me with their not been much happening recently. So hopefully I’ll finally be able to my Flickr with some interesting pics :)

Fountain

Other than that there’s not much else to write about, there is induction day tomorrow, which will consist of getting us to do silly tasks to get us to know other people starting. Fingers crossed it won’t be a repeat of the dreaded toilet roll task from 2 years ago!

The Beatles Remastered?

I’ve been anticipating the release of the re-mastered Beatles albums for several months now, and It’s come with some disappointment that I won’t have the money to buy the box set for around a month.

I have managed to get hold of a few samples on the internet which so far I’ve been slightly disappointed with. At the time I was under the impression when they marketed it as a “stereo” box set that they would be going back to the beginning master tracks and giving us a whole new mix and besting the rather annoying older false stereo tracks. False stereo being where we have maybe the bass and drum kit going through the left channel and the vocal and guitars through the right channel. But this doesn’t seem to be the case, yes the tracks are defiantly clearer than the old ones but it’s still not going to be pleasant listening to tracks like “Blue Jay Way” using an iPod or other MP3 player.

I’m still going to buy it but I don’t feel it’s a big enough change to the originals (although I’m sure some people may disagree, and are welcome to comment), to conciser buying them if you already have all the CDs.

First Post

Hello!

I’m not really used to Blogging (Word Press is telling me this isn’t even a word, so maybe I’m not “Blogging”) it’s never really something i’ve considered before. So I’m a bit stuck for words right now. I guess for now it would probably be best to start from the beginning, so this is my (very messy) desk where I’ll be writing most these posts from, hopefully by the next time I write something it’ll be nice and tidy.

Desk

Over-all even if no one reads the posts, this is just a place for me to get some of my ideas and feelings down every now and again, maybe rant about things in the news that are making me angry at the time and i’ll throw in some photos i’ve take out and about :) .

… Also for anyone who interested, the toy on top of my speaker it is a rather old (about 10/12 years) R2D2 toy from star wars!
